Beaudesert Community Kindergarten
Beaudesert Community Kindergarten is an affiliated C&K community centre. With over 100 years of practical experience and curriculum development, C&K has proven positive outcomes for children.
Our Kindy provides a loving and nurturing environment with highly qualified staff and wonderful facilities. We currently run two groups of pre-prep aged children (3 1/2 to 5 year olds) on a five day fortnight 8.30am to 2.40pm.
Each group has the benefit of one of our university trained Early Childhood Teachers (Co-Directors) and two qualified, experienced Assistants.

history
Established by the local community in 1987, Beaudesert Community Kindergarten has prided itself in maintaining a strong community link and continues to be run by a dedicated parent committee.
The site we now occupy in Tubber Street was the kind gift of the Van Hoeyen Family. Mrs Jacoba Van Hoeyen is now Patron of our Kindergarten.
In the early days the building could clearly be seen from Brisbane Street, and children would often refer to the Kindy as Humpty’s House. This connection to our past is still evident in the Kindy’s logo.
Formed very much as the result of community enthusiasm and hard work, our community Kindergarten differs fundamentally from State and privately owned centres, in that it is owned and managed by the actual members of our Association – you, the parents.

Our Kindy is a community owned centre that is operated by a Parent Committee.
The committee meets monthly and consists of an Executive Committee (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) and a sub committee (maintenance, grants, fundraising and publicity).
The committee is responsible for:
- General management and financial matters of the Kindy
- Following the constitution of the association
- Ensuring the centre is meeting C&K affiliation standards so the centre continues to receive QKFS funding
- The employment of all necessary staff and compliance with the provision of any awards or other industrial requirements
- Legislative requirements affecting the centre including the Child Care Act (2002) and other legislation such as Child Protection and Workplace, Health and Safety legislation.
- Building and playgrounds
- Promoting the centre within the community
Volunteering on the committee is a great way to get involved. Elections take place at the annual general meeting (AGM) around March year.

Our commitment to continuous improvement and the provision of the highest standards of education and care is evident in our National Quality Framework (NQF) results.
The NQF encourages services to provide a high quality and consistent standard of early childhood education and care across Australia. Services are assessed and rated against seven quality areas, 18 standards and 58 elements that make up the National Quality Standard.
The standards cover children’s development and education as well as relationships with families, educator qualifications, and the service environment.
Beaudesert Community Kindergarten received an overall assessment rating of ‘Meeting the National Quality Standards.’
Our educators engage in an ongoing process of reflection, planning and review to ensure they can build on their strengths, and work on areas that need further focus.
We strive to involve children families and the community in this process and encourage and welcome your thoughts, recommendations and feedback on what we are doing well, and where we can improve.
