At Beaudesert Community Kindergarten we believe the rights of the child is paramount. Our families are respected and supported in their parenting role, as well as being acknowledged as partners in their child’s education. We do this by striving to develop positive, supportive relationships with families based on open communication and sharing of knowledge and skills.
Through our involvement with families and the community we have been able to provide an environment that is uniquely ours. We began, and continue as a result of community enthusiasm and hard work. We respect, value and welcome the diversity of the children and families in our kindy. We belong to all the families who have entrusted their children to our care. We belong especially to all the children who are sharing their childhood with us.
Children learn through play. They are naturally active, curious and motivated to learn. Offering a holistic approach in an environment that encompasses sustainability and diversity all children are able to make connections with their world, through our large, natural, eco friendly “back yard” which encourages the children to take risks and to refine their understanding of the world through play and real life experiences.
By being responsive to children’s idea’s and enthusiasm we are able to offer ongoing support and opportunity for children to succeed and become competent and involved learners.
To maintain the high level of education and care in Beaudesert Community Kindergarten, it is our goal to be progressive and innovative. We recognise our teachers as our most precious resource and aim to provide them with a satisfying and safe working environment. We believe that together the staff and the parents create a partnership that provides for the best interest of young children and families.

A C&K educational program will honour every child’s right to play, build on their existing learning from home, and provide foundations to be a successful lifelong learner. Beaudesert Community Kindergarten is a place where your child will belong, engage, and contribute to a community of learners. Your child will experience many opportunities to explore, enquire, solve problems, develop friendships, imagine, use their creativity and extend their capabilities in all curriculum areas including language, literacy and numeracy.
Our approach to curriculum (educational program) is born out of a long held tradition of early childhood philosophy and practice, and is supported by contemporary international and national research and theoretical perspectives around children’s learning, health and wellbeing.
In our service children are valued and respected as competent and capable co-contributors in the learning process. Our teachers work alongside your child to actively encourage and support them in the learning process. Staff regularly undertake professional development to ensure the most up-to-date research is used as a basis for shaping curriculum decisions.
The curriculum offered is a collaborative venture, negotiated with children and developed by fully qualified early childhood professionals. The physical environments and mood and feel of the centre are designed to support and enhance your child’s learning. Your child’s curiosity, enthusiasm and love of learning will continually be encouraged by staff. As teachers and children engage in inquiry together, children are learning to observe, ask questions, reflect on their actions, and engage in meaningful and self-directed activity.

Play-Based Learning
Children learn best through play. At Beaudesert Community Kindergarten your child’s learning will be full of wonder and possibility. We will share in your child’s investigations, passions and discoveries and actively engage, support and extend their thinking through play.
Our educators use specific teaching strategies to expand on your child’s disposition for learning and their understandings in literacy, numeracy, and other areas of development. Educators are open to your child’s ideas, and will foster their social and emotional growth and provoke their curiosity. Our experienced educators will build on your child’s strengths and interests through their play, to grow their learning and support their development.
What does play-based learning look like?
Learning and enrichment of play will happen in ways that are meaningful and relevant to your child. For example, your child may be playing in the sandpit and their educator will encourage them to draw maps in the sand and label them, or measure the water levels in the dam they have built. In this example the educator is purposely supporting your child’s interest to explore opportunities for literacy and numeracy development.
You might also see educators supporting your child and others to set up a shop where the children can transfer their real life knowledge to their play and extend on their learning. This may include developing labels and signs, making money/credit cards, researching what is required for a shop, negotiating roles played by friends and solving problems.
Our educators will encourage your child to explore and investigate a range of materials, and express their thining, and emerging understandings in a variety of ways. We will support their curiosity and creativity and encouage them to investigate and solve problems. We will help them to capture their learning and share their thinking.
communication
We will communicate with you about experiences your child is engaging in, their growth and development, projects being undertaken, and opportunities for you to become involved. We also encourage you to share your ideas, provide feedback and connect with others at kindy.
We will regularly talk with you about your child’s progress. You can arrange a meeting with our educators at any time to talk about how your child is progressing or to share any concerns you may have. We appreciate any relevant information you can share about your child with the Director. This enables staff to understand your child’s and your family’s needs better.
